Prayer
for Vocations
Loving
God and Father of all, we thank you for all that we are and
have, and for all that we are able to do.
We thank you most of all that through baptism we share in
your life, and through your Holy Spirit are formed with Christ
Jesus as your sons and daughters.
Dedicated to the Holy Family of Nazareth and urged on by the
charism of our founder, Father John Berthier, we pray that
people of our time will be enlightened by the Spirit to discern
their particular calling in life.
We pray especially for vocations, which respond to the missionary
task of the Church and contribute to the evangelism of all
for the coming of the Kingdom of God.
Enkindle with fire and zeal of your love the hearts of those
whom you have called to evangelize in far away places, different
cultures and wherever the Gospel needs to be proclaimed.
Awake within hearts of many a call to minister as priest,
brother or associate with the Missionaries of the Holy Family.
Grant them the grace to draw others to the Gospel, to promote
vocations and to commit themselves to the pastoral care of
families.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, enlighten us, help us and save us.
AMEN

Fostering
vocations is a primary mission for the MSF Congregation. Men with
a true calling and good health will have the opportunity to pursue
their religious vocation through MSF. While the number of men answering
their call to a religious vocation has been on the decline for decades,
MSF shares in the common hope that a springtime of new vocations
will follow this recent crisis in the Church. These awakened calls
to a religious life may come to those in high school or those in
the middle of their secular career. MSF is in a unique position
because it offers religious vocations in both the priesthood and
brotherhood. These two vocational paths along with the rule of the
congregation make life with the Missionaries of the Holy Family
a genuine family experience.
MSF
supports vocations from a variety of backgrounds, Young or Old,
Rich or Poor, PhD or GED. MSF follows the vision of the founder’s
vision. Discerning the call to religious life can be challenging
and MSF is set up to help men work through that process. God wants
all of us to be happy and we can be happiest doing His will and
following His plan for us while on this earth. If that plan includes
being a religious, you don’t want to miss that call to happiness.
On the other hand if His call is to another vocation then your greatest
happiness will be there and not in the religious life. MSF welcomes
the opportunity to help you in that process. The first step is to
read through the materials here on the web about MSF vocations and
then contact the MSF Vocations Director. All the contact information
can be found in the Contact
Us page.
A
wonderful attribute of the MSF religious community is that both
the priesthood and brotherhood are present. These are distinctly
different callings.
