Blessing of Parents Prayer

The Blessing of Parents Prayer is also used during our Mother's through Father's Day Novena. This Novena is held for nine consecutive Sundays - starting on the first Sunday in May.

Heavenly Father, the fullness of your design for the Family transforms a Husband and Wife into a Mother and Father. At the heart of this transformation, you make self-sacrifice the cornerstone of Parental Love. Bless all Mothers and Fathers for their self-sacrifice and their journey of growing in the Faith.

Bless my Mother and Father;
Bless Expectant Parents and New Parents;
Bless Parents that have grown distant or estranged from their children;
Bless Parents whose children have died;
Bless Parents who have lost children before birth;
Bless Parents who have aborted their children with healing and reconciliation;
Bless Single Parents;
Bless Parents caring for chronically ill or injured children;
Bless Adoptive Parents;
Bless Foster Parents;
Bless Parents who desire to have children;
Bless my children who are now Parents;
Bless the Mothers and Fathers whom you have called to eternal life.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the role models of parenthood found in my own family, in other families, and especially in the Holy Family of Nazareth. Blessed Saint Mary, Blessed Saint Joseph, help us to always follow your example of love and fidelity, and we ask for your prayers to your Son, Jesus Christ, to bless all parents. Amen.
