Q1: Our marriage has become routine and boring? A: There are several ways you can consider enriching your marriage. From simple daily things to deeper weekend retreats. Such programs that are available are Marriage Encounter (www.wwme.org) and the Christian Family Movement (www.cfm.org). You can also find a wealth of marriage information on www.foryourmarriage.org
Q2: My marriage is in serious trouble. What can we do? A: “Retrouvaille is life line for marriages” . This program is offered by many dioceses. Check with your diocese about availability or visit the national website at www.retrouvaille.org
Q3: Our marriage has less and less intimacy. What can we do? A decrease of intimacy in marriage can happen for many reasons. Let me make a couple suggestions that I hope you can pursue.
- A Marriage Counselor can be a great resource for improving married life. It is important to find a marriage counselor who is respected / recommended by your local priest or diocese. A counselor who is faithful to Catholic Church teaching is best. If for some reason your husband doesn’t want to go – you can still go for a few sessions and the counselor may have suggestions.
- A Marriage Encounter Weekend can be a wonderful way to rekindle a marriage. A weekend at marriage encounter is like a vacation that can refresh a marriage. Marriage Encounter has been in existence for decades and for good reason – it works. (www.wwme.org )
